How can I estimate future college costs, and more importantly, what are some tax-advantaged ways to save for college?

A number of tools are available to forecast college expenses that, according to the College Board amount to more than $35,000 per year on average for a four-year private college or university and are growing at an annual rate of five to eight percent. The 529 College Savings Plan is one way to invest funds now to be withdrawn tax-free for higher education in the future. We can examine multiple scenarios to determine the best approach for you.
